About Me

I'm Sam, and I'm 50 years old.  I decided to start this blog during the pandemic in lockdown 3.0, and after wondering whether I might be getting a bit too old for a blog, and a fair amount of googling, it appears that older adults are the fastest-growing demographic online - so here I am!

I worked as an Administrative Assistant, followed by a Personal Assistant in the NHS for 24 years.  After a predominantly enjoyable working-life, I made the decision to leave in the summer of 2020 to concentrate on my hobbies and interests.

I live in a small village in South Norfolk with my husband Dave and my cocker spaniel Freddie.  I have an amazing stepdaughter and 3 adorable grandchildren who just make me laugh all of the time.  I love reading, baking, cooking, gardening, and photography, and I have just started to write book reviews.  I hope to be able to share some of my book reviews with you and that you enjoy reading everything else I've got to talk about - as I write from 'Sam's Fireside'.

If you'd like to get in touch, take a look at my contact page for my details and all my social media links.  I will try and reply to you all, and I'd welcome any feedback.

Welcome to you all as I begin my blogging journey.
